Antonio was born in Sardinia in 1956. He studied art at the Academy of Fine Arts in Brera, Milan. He has exhibited his works in the galleries of the most important Italian cities and internationally. In Antonio's works the face dominates the compositional space, it is emphasized conferring dynamism to the painting. The material is moved, the brushstroke vibrant and the color imposes itself through frenetic, sometimes contrasting chromatic combinations, which seem to speak by expressing the emotions and the deep and intimate expressiveness of the subjects.
By connecting color and expression, the artist gives to his works great humanity. The intense emotionality brings back a dramatic force that frees the inner dimension. Color destroys the conscious personality of the figures filling it with feelings and thoughts.
Each face collects a precise emotional identity, the artist makes his subject escape from the crowd by meeting him in an inner state, moving from the world of the spirit to that of art.
In his artistic research, the artist seeks an internal fusion of psychological, different and contrasting forms where figuration and abstraction proceed together in a continuous balancing contrast of rational and emotional vision, that we would call male and female in cohabitation.
