Olga Novokhatska

Olga is an Ukrainian painter who lives and works in Paris.
Since she was a child she was already sure she wanted to be a painter by deciding to enroll in a high school of art and then continuing her studies at the State Academy of Design and Fine Arts. After completing her studies, she decided to move to France in 2008 and graduate from the Ecole Supérieure d’Art in Lorraine. Olga's art is influenced by 19th century Impressionism.
Her style mixes figurative art, impressionism and abstract expressionism. Her works are mainly inspired by nature, the human figure and floral compositions.
Olga's touch is recognizable in the work of the material, she uses oil paint working it in relief through a palette knife. With this technique Olga wants to give energy and movement to her paintings. Oil paint and acrylic vary the effect and structure, the alternation of fluidity and thickness of the pigment confer depth to the painting.
Its expressionist side is manifested in the choice and fusion of colors, tones, shadows, lights that lead the observer to discover places, situations, contexts veiled by nostalgia and timeless atmospheres. Exploring the relationship between sensuality and materialism, the artist develops a practice halfway between figurative art and abstract art, between the infinite and the finite. Olga has exhibited in Ukraine, France, Belgium and Brussels.
